I spent some time working on a distributed graph database and it broke my brain. For a long time I thought I was really into databases - but then one day I got some insightful messages from a stranger on reddit who helped me to understand that my interest was actually rooted in metaphysics, as expressed in relational data structures.
Ever since then I’ve been in a bit of a rabbit hole. You see, I no longer believe that objects are real. I no longer believe that “state” has any sort of meaning or permanence beyond that which we ascribe to it. I believe that process is the fundamental reality, and I’ve enjoyed learning about Process Metaphysics as an alternative to 2000 years of Western Object-oriented philosophy.
Expect to find various musings here as I’m compelled to write.
